Fried Shrimps Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound of Shrimps
2 large Onions
1 tsp of Chilli powder
1 tsp of Coriander powder
1/2 tsp of Cumin powder
1 tsp of Garlic paste
1 tsp of Ginger paste
1.5 tsp of Lemon Juice or 2 pieces of "Kokam" or 1 gm of Tamarind soaked & crushed in some water
1 clove of Garlic, finely chopped.
Salt to taste
1 tbspn of Oil
Chopped Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:
Clean the shrimps by removing the shell & deveining them.
To the washed shrimps, add the above mentioned spices, ginger-garlic paste & lemon juice or kokam/tamarind paste. Marinade the mixture for app. 1/2 hour.
Finely chop the onions & keep them aside.
Heat some oil in the pan. Season it with chopped garlic. Add the chopped onions & stir fry till they are golden brown.
Add the shrimps & stir fry them very nicely. Cover the pan with the lid & let the shrimps cook on low flame for some time.
Stir fry the mixture once again until the shrimps are cooked & the water begins to evaporate.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Baked Shrimp Recipe


Ingredients

36 large uncooked Shrimp
3 ounces Feta Cheese
12 ounces Plum Tomatoes, finely chopped
6 Tbsp. Butter
3/4 cup dry Vermouth
3 cloves of Garlic
1/4 cup loosely packed Parsley
3/4 tsp. Oregano
1/4 tsp. Red Pepper flakes
Salt

Method:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Peel and de-vein the shrimp. Mince the garlic. Mince the parsley and set aside.
Melt the butter in a large enough skillet so that you can cook the shrimp in a single layer. Add the garlic, shrimp, oregano, pepper flakes and salt to taste. Cook, turning once, until the shrimp are almost pink. Transfer to a large casserole dish.
Add the vermouth to the skillet and boil until reduced by half. Add any accumulated juices from the shrimp. Add tomatoes and stir for 30 seconds. Top the shrimp with this mixture and then crumble the feta cheese over everything.
Bake until the cheese is bubbly, about 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle with the parsley. Let stand for a few minutes and then serve.

Shrimp Fry Recipe


Ingredients:


* Onion - 1 big (finely chopped)
* Coconut pieces - 3 tbs (finely chopped)
* Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
* Fennel seeds - 1 tsp (crush coarsely)
* Dried red chillies - 4
* Oil - 3 tbs
* Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
* Cilantro and curry leaves

To Marinate:


* Shrimp - 1 lb
* Chilli powder - 3 tbs
* Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
* Coriander powder - 1 tsp
* Fenugreek powder - 1/4 tsp
* Lemon juice - from 1 lemon
* Fresh ground black pepper - 2 tsp
* Salt to taste

Make a paste with all these ingredients.

Method:
Clean the shrimp and marinate it.
Let it marinate for 2 hrs in the refrigerator.
Finely chop the onion and coconut pieces.
Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard and add the chopped onion and cocunut.
Put the red chilly pieces in to it and fry.
Add the ginger and garlic paste and fry until the raw smell goes.
Now add the marinated shrimp and cook.
Don't add any water as the shrimp has a better moisture content.
Now add freshly crushed fennel seeds and fry the shrimp until done.
Add the chopped cilantro and fresh curry leaves at the end and serve hot.

Shrimp Masala Recipe

Ingredients:
2/3 cup packed coriander leaves
1/3 cup packed mint leaves
2 Tbsp water
2 ts sesame oil
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp chopped fresh ginger
2 tbsp white vinegar
1 ts ground turmeric
1 ts ground cumin
1 ts chilli powder
1 ts ground fennel
1/2 ts ground cardamom
1 ts salt
3.3 lbs shrimp
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 large onion, sliced

Method:
1. Throw in the Masala Paste ingredients into a blender and whir until pureed.
2. Shell and devein shrimp. Leave tails on.
3. Heat oil in large pan, throw in onion and stir until lightly browned.Medium heat.
4. Add all of the Masala Paste and just cook until it smells really good.
5. Throw in the shrimp and cook for about 5 minutes or until shrimp are tender.

Hyderabad Shrimps Recipe

Ingredients :

Oil - 4 tbsp.
shrimps, cleaned and de-viened - 1 1/2 lb

Blend to a smooth paste the following :

Red chillies - 5
Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
Aniseed - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 3 tbsp
Ginger piece - a pinch
Coconut - 2-3 tbsp
Tamarind - lemon sized ball.
Bay leaves - 2
Green chillies - 4
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Melted butter - 1 1/2 tbsp.

Method :


1. Heat the oil, add bay leaves, split green chillies and the
blended mixture.
2. Fry till the oil begins to seperate.This will take around 10-12 minutes.
3. This will take around 10-12 minutes.
4. Add a little water and simmer it for a while.
5. Just before taking it off the fire, add the coconut milk and
garam masala and bring it to a boil.
6. If you want, you can add melted butter to the dish to
enhance the taste.


Spicy Shrimp Rice Recipe


Ingredients

Shrimp,
Basmati Rice-2cups
Onion-1 Large
Butter Or Oil
Ginger Paste 1tbs
Garlic Paste 1tbs
Garam Masala 1tsp
Cumin Powder 1tsp
Red Chilli Powder 1tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/4tsp
Salt
Coriander Leaves
Oyester Sauce 1tbs
Soya Sauce 1tbs

Method:



In a bowl mix together cleaned shrimp, ginger paste, red chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder. Set it aside for some time.
In a large vessel melt butter. Fry onions till slightly golden brown then add garlic paste and fry for some time. Add oyster sauce, soya sauce and the marinated shrimp and salt to taste.
Cook the shrimp till the are half done, if recquired add some water.
Clean the rice, add to shrimp with the recquired amount of water to cook the rice and coriander. Cook till the rice is done.

Pasta Salad with Shrimp Pakoda Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups (100 g) pasta (fusilli or farfalle)
1 cup (100 g) gramflour
seasoning to taste
2 tsp (10 ml) oil
1 tsp (5 g) baking powder
1 cup (100 g) shrimps
Oil for frying
2 (10 g) olives, diced
2 medium-sized (100 g) tomatoes, blanched and diced
1 tbsp (5 g ) basil leaves, julienned
2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
2 large flakes (10 g ) garlic
1 tbsp (10 g) capers
2 3/4 cups (150 g ) lettuce, shredded
2 tbsp (10 g) grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp (5 g) crushed pepper

Method


Cook the pasta in lightly - salted water, but do not make it too soft. Leave it al dente, with a bit of bite.
Prepare the batter with gramflour, seasoning, 10 ml oil and baking powder. Dip the shrimp in the batter and deep fry.
Toss the blanched pasta with olive oil, garlic, capers and the julienned tomatoes in a bowl.
Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese, olives, julienned basil leaves and crushed pepper. Serve warm with hot shrimp pakoda on top.

Sweet and Sour Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients:
2 pounds rock shrimp
1 can (16 ounces) cut green beans,
drained 1/2 head cauliflower, sliced
1 cup diagonally sliced celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons chopped pimiento
Marinade (see below)
Salad Greens

Direction:
To peel rock shrimp, insert one tip of kitchen shears into sand vein and cut along the back of the shrimp. Remove shell and rinse to remove sand vein.
To cook rock shrimp, drop into boiling water, and cook for 45 seconds to one minute, or until rock shrimp are no longer translucent in the center. Drain.
Combine all ingredients except salad greens. Cover and marinate in refrigerator for at least one hour. Serve on salad greens. Yield: 6 servings.

Marinade:


1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup oil
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Yield: 2/3 cup

Shrimp Kofta Curry Recipe

Ingredients:
Shrimp-1.5 kg
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Onions-3
Green pepper-3
Chilly powder-1/2 tsp
Egg-1
Bread crumbs-1/2 cup
Oil for frying
Coconut extract-2 cups
Chopped cilantro-1 tbsp
Chopped ginger- 2tsp
Chopped garlic- 2tsp
Garam masala powder-2 tsp
Tomato puree-1/4 cup
Salt to taste

Method:

Kofta:
Cook shrimp with turmeric powder, mash it to thick paste with salt. Chop one onion and 2 green pepper.Mix this with shrimp and make small balls. Dip in beaten egg, roll in bread crumbs and deep fry to golden koftas, keep it aside.

Curry:

Chop 2 onions, 2 green pepper.
Grind ginger, garlic to a paste. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan,add onion, green pepper, ground paste and fry for 5 minutes. Add tomato puree, garam masala, chilly powder followed by coconut extract and salt. Allow it to boil,gradually add the fried koftas in low flame and leave it till the gravy becomes thick.Garnish with chopped cilantro.


Bombay Shrimps Recipe

Ingredients:
1 lb medium sized raw shrimps
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
4 tbsp tamarind paste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
¼ tsp red chilli powder
2 tbsp veg oil
3 cloves garlic (whole)
½ cup coconut milk
1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
2 fresh finely chopped green chillies
salt to taste

Method:

Peal the shrimps.
Put them in a bowl and add garlic, ginger, tamarind paste, turmeric, salt and chilli powder to it. Mix well and keep aside for 10 minutes.
Heat the oil in a frying pan.
Add whole cloves of garlic. Stir until brown.
Add shrimps in it and stir for 1 minutes so that the shrimps also get brown.
Add coconut milk, cilantro and green chillies.
Turn the heat off as the sauce begins to simmer.
Serve on bed of steamed rice.
